My family all came to Bedford at around the same time. All four of my grandparents went to school in Toledo, Ohio, but once they were done with college they all came to Bedford in the 60's. Bedford has a lot of people who work in Toledo but live in Bedford, that is exactly what my parents do and this trend is what eventually led Bedford to become Toledo's biggest suburb.

A significant part of my families history in Bedford comes from my grandfather, Bill Regnier. If I tell someone where I am from, the only reason that most people know of it is because of our stellar wrestling program at Bedford High School. When my grandfather was the head wrestling coach at Bedford from 1966 to 1995 he won 9 team state championships, 25 individual titles, and accumulated an insane record of 500 wins 57 losses and 3 ties. He has been inducted into both the Michigan and National coaches hall of fame, and he was recently rated the number one Michigan wrestling coach of all time by High School Sports Scene. My grandfather had a significant impact on almost every student who came through Bedford High School, which made him a big part of Bedford's history. He definitely "put Bedford on the map."
